Napa Valley

Description

Crafted from 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec, this limited wine unites 64% Howell Mountain intensity with 36% Rutherford elegance. It marries the power and structure of Bancroft Ranch with the plush opulence of the Hewitt Vineyard and BV10, creating a seamless expression of two iconic terroirs. Aged in slightly less than new American oak, it honors the legacy of Andre Tchelistcheff, whose influence shaped BV, Rutherford, and the very foundation of Napa Valley winemaking. This bottling stands as a tribute to his mastery—a sophisticated fusion of heritage, craftsmanship, and place.

Nate Weis

Winemaker, Beaulieu Vineyard

Winemaker, Nate Weis

A wine country native, Nate Weis grew up in Napa Valley with a winemaker father and a collection of T-shirts emblazoned with winery logos. While he contemplated becoming a pilot or firefighter, and eventually earned a BS in biopsychology/neuroscience, he also felt a tug toward wine.

His first job after graduation was “cellar rat” at Groth Vineyards & Winery. “My dad suggested I make sure I actually liked winemaking before heading down that career path,” Nate says. “I loved that first harvest, so I packed my bags, dropped my application for grad school in the mail and went off to Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.”

When he returned home, Nate worked a harvest for Etude Wines then earned his MS in viticulture and enology at UC Davis. Before joining Beaulieu Vineyard in March 2025, he worked for several well-respected Napa Valley wineries, including 11 years at Silver Oak Winery where he led winemaking and grape growing operations for The Family of Silver Oak portfolio. His tenure there was defined by a steadfast commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation.
