Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley

10 cases produced

Description

Le Sommet is a rare, estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon from the highest blocks (10 & 11) of Pym-Rae Estate on Mount Veeder, historically known as Robin Williams’ Villa Sorriso. Dry-farmed and mountain-grown, the fruit reflects purity, depth, and quiet intensity, shaped by volcanic soils, Pacific breezes, and biodynamic vineyard practices. Crafted from a single concrete tank with patience and precision, this exclusive Premiere Napa Valley bottling is limited to just 10 cases. Le Sommet embodies the Tesseron family’s vision of terroir-driven winemaking, offering a singular expression of Mount Veeder’s elegance, complexity, and enduring spirit—a one-of-a-kind Napa masterpiece.

Jerome Ledit

Winemaker, Pym-Rae

Winemaker, Jerome Ledit

Since January 2021, Alfred, Justine and Noé Tesseron have entrusted Jérôme Ledit, former assistant winemaker of the family’s renowned property Château Pontet-Canet in Pauillac, with the management and winemaking of Pym-Rae on Mount Veeder, Napa Valley.

At 36 years old, Jérôme embodies the new generation. Eager for knowledge and expertise, this native of Alsace has traveled and made wine all over the world, from British Columbia to New Zealand.

He was first introduced to Biodynamics in 2012, when he took on the role of estate manager at Michel Chapoutier’s Alsatian and German wine project, “Schieferkopf”. His experience led him to acquire true expertise in small mountain vineyards and precise terroirs.

In his mission as estate manager and winemaker based in the heart of the estate, Jérôme Ledit brings a fresh perspective to Pym-Rae’s unique farming and winemaking philosophy, while ensuring the continuity of the biodynamic and winemaking approaches set up at the estate since 2016. Aside from the vineyard blocks, he will also be the steward of the woods, olive trees and pastures on the estate, and oversee the livestock of rustic cows and goats which roam there.

Jérôme Ledit is a graduate of the AgroSup Dijon University, one of France's best schools in higher agricultural studies. He holds an Agronomic Engineer's diploma with specialization in viticulture and oenology.

Alfred Tesseron

Winemaker, Pym-Rae

Winemaker, Alfred Tesseron

Alfred Tesseron is the owner of Pym-Rae, Napa, of Château Pontet-Canet, and Tesseron Cognac.

For almost five decades, he has shaped Château Pontet-Canet’s identity with a strong vision centered on respect for nature, long-term thinking, and precision. Under his leadership, the estate became the first major Bordeaux grands cru to convert to biodynamics, setting a new benchmark for Pauillac and inspiring estates worldwide.

In 2016, alongside his children Justine & Noé and his nieces Mélanie & Philippine, Alfred extended this philosophy to California with the acquisition of Pym-Rae in Napa Valley. The property includes a historic high elevation vineyard planted by the late owner Robin Williams in 1990 on the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder. Under the Tesseron family, Pym-Rae has emerged as one of Napa Valley’s most distinctive mountain wines — powerful, refined, and deeply connected to its site.

A member of the Académie du Vin de Bordeaux and Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole, Alfred continues to divide his time between Pauillac, Cognac and Napa Valley, driven by the same commitment: expressing each terroir with honesty, patience and authenticity.
