Celebrating 160 years of family stewardship, the 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rare expression of legacy, terroir, and meticulous craftsmanship. Hand-harvested from two select sites on our Estate’s West Bench south of St. Helena, the fruit is aged in 100% premium French oak barrels and crafted with minimal intervention to reveal profound depth and complexity. Each bottle carries the story of generations devoted to nurturing this land, reflecting its unique character and history. This limited-production wine is more than Cabernet—it is a living testament to 160 years of dedication, a collector’s treasure, and a singular expression of Napa Valley heritage.

Julien Fayard
Winemaker, Taplin Cellars
With more than two decades of winemaking expertise, Julien Fayard believes in producing wines with an identity, exploiting what makes each one unique. Originally from France, Julien began his career as a winemaker producing wine at his family’s winery in Provence. In Bordeaux he worked at Lafite Rothschild and Smith Haut Laffite before relocating to Napa Valley. In Napa, he was Philippe Melka's director of winemaking ffor a few years before launching his own projects.

Education: Julien earned his Master in Agri-Business from ESA France and his Master in Winemaking from Toulouse, France. In 2011, he received his MBA from UC Davis.

Julien Fayard is a terroir-driven winemaker who believes in guiding a wine gently rather than imposing aggressive intervention. For him, the true magic lies in discovering each vintage as it unfolds—through the growing season, the harvest, and the fermentations—allowing the wine to faithfully express its year and its place..
