Sourced from the most exceptional section of our Oakville hillside vineyard, this Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the true pedigree of vines that have spent more than two decades rooting themselves into the rocky slope and surrounding landscape. Winemaker Jeff Ames channels the character of this singular site—its elevation, its exposure, and its long-settled vines—into a Cabernet of depth, purity, and natural balance. Aged 18 months in new French oak and rested an additional year in bottle, the wine carries the unmistakable imprint of hillside Oakville: refined power, seamless structure, and a quiet confidence born of time and place.

I worked my first harvest in Oregon in 1998 and came to Napa in 1999. Was fortunate enough to work at several high-end brands with a friend before going out on my own after 2006.

Winemaking Philosophy:
The approach for the Nemerever wines is to have them show like where they come from, Eastern Oakville slopes. We do not fine or filter any of the wines since we want them to show the sense of place as clearly as we can. For the barrels we use only the best barrels that we can get our hands on so they are all Darnajou and Taransaud coppers. After several years making the wines and fermenting each separately we have begun to finely dial in the fermentations and what blocks go best which which blocks for co-fermentation. As always I want the wines to taste amazing but I also want them to taste like Nemerever.
